Today the Wellbeing Team worked with students to prepare food parcels for local families for Christmas.
An important life lesson we like to instill in our students is the act of giving and the rewards that come from helping others . Today we spoke about the fact that no matter how tough you think your life is there’s always someone who has to face challenges that are even tougher than yours.
Giving back is where you give, and then nothing happens. No benefits for you, no recognition, nothing tangible gets sent your way. Your biggest and sole reward is the realization that you’ve made a significant change in someone’s life. And if not “significant” then a positive change nevertheless.
Volunteering and giving back not only builds stronger communities but improves your emotional and physical health at the same time.
Today we experienced the wellbeing that comes from helping our Wirreanda Community.
